Life is about taking risks, which is something our creator George M. Conaway knew from the very beginning. After years of working as a bindery machine operator, it was about time to take a break and start dedicating time to what he was always good at; leather craftsmanship.
He took his savings and bought a plane ticket to Peru, to give shape to his talent and learn from the best. George stayed in the jungle and lived there for almost a year, where he learned how to handle leather, with simple, traditional, and safe techniques.
The Leather Atelier’s Path
After returning to Canada, with knowledge and humbleness, he was planning to launch an online store. He called some artisan friends to help him craft more products to offer people andafter hiring a host and domain service, The Leather Atelier was born.
Our Goals
One of The Leather Atelier’s goals is to design each piece with love and dedication, using raw materials most humbly and safely, without damaging the planet. We want to progressively move to vegan production, which is something that is already happening little by little.
Additionally, our goal is to bring information about other craftsmanship designers, to write reviews about trendy topics, and invite our customers to learn more about leather.
Our Target
At first, we wanted to focus our target on getting to people that love leather craftsmanship, but now we are straightly directing to get to everybody that feels like they want to change.
That’s why we offer all kinds of jewelry, retail accessories, home art, bags, jackets and more, to be able to set a fashion trend.
